
A sensational daylight robbery shook Palasa town when a group of unidentified miscreants targeted a jewelry shop and escaped with a large quantity of gold ornaments. According to police sources, the accused allegedly entered the shop posing as officials, overpowered the owner and staff, and carried out the robbery within minutes.
The incident occurred at a well-known jewelry store in the Palasa-Kasibugga area. The robbers reportedly handcuffed the shop owner, threatened employees, disabled surveillance systems, and fled with approximately 800 grams of gold ornaments. CCTV footage from nearby locations captured the suspects escaping on motorcycles.
Following the robbery, special police teams launched an intensive investigation. Authorities examined CCTV footage, gathered forensic evidence, and conducted vehicle checks across the region. Police later arrested several suspects linked to an interstate gang and recovered a portion of the stolen gold along with cash, vehicles, and weapons. Investigations are continuing to trace other individuals believed to be involved in the crime.
